I have been inactive for a long while to the extent I almost lost this blog. I somehow managed to reconnect today. In fact I had planned to resume posting last Wednesday for some reasons but that day and date have now passed.
Anyway, it was a memorable weekend last week, being a start to a new Lunar Year. There have been so much discussions on how auspicious and meaningful a Lunar Year is and I do not wish to add to the discussions. At personal level though, it was quite significant for me. Not only for the long weekend but also the timing of it all.
Indeed it coincided with our 25th year Anniversary with my other half. It was a long journey to reach this far. We went through valleys, hilltops, winding and straight roads at one time or other. Together we managed to ride the cold, warm, sorrows and joys of a meaningful relationship. Through all the ups and downs, Thank God, we passed through with not much of bruises and pains. Yet we learned a lot both as individuals as well as, as a pair. No doubt there will be many more lessons to learn as we move to the next phase of parenthood. With our kids and no longer kids in the true sense but grown ups there will be different kind of challenges to face. It will also be the time when we will have to be the guide for new families to be established when the time comes for our kids. With all that, I pray that we will continue to enjoy our remaining life together and hopefully we will be blessed by the Almighty for the next 25 years and beyond.
For all the achievements of the past 25 years, I have my better half to thank to - she is not only a wife and mother to my kids but she is the best friend I have. Thanks so much, Dear!

Time Flew
Indeed, it is now coming to almost a month since my last entry. It has been rather topsy turvy with many events taking place around the country. It was rather a fast turn for me. One week of a break from work routine just flew like a javeline thrown at the Beijing 2008 Olympics. With the new season of BPL kicking off last week it was rather hectic.
Nevertheless, thank God that I managed to find some solitude full of quality time for bonding with people around me. In particular with the elder boy who has been busy himself with his school commitments. The joy shown on his face was a triple joy for me to savour though he did not say as much. It was a good trip like to find 'Damai'. I wished I had more time there...
It was also the time for me to catch up with my old parents. They were rather surprised to see us all arrived unannounced at their door steps. It was another pleasure to me to be able to bring similar joys to them after the last trip. With works piling up, I am not sure when I could repeat these trips.
At the end of the day it was one of those rarest occasions when I had let go off almost everything and focus only on those dearest around me.
Thanks guys, I love u all!

Parental Visit
The previous weekend was a return trip home with the kids. It was a family occasion celebrating one of the third generation getting hitched. I managed to take time off to go back home although the occasion was somewhere else. It was a time to renew family ties with relatives who have not crossed our paths for some time. After a good rest, it was time to return to the city. The trip was generally exciting although rather tiring driving over 600km in a day. It was worth it, nonetheless to see mum and dad....

Sweat Weekend!
Arghhh! What a fun weekend it was. The days passed really quickly. Yes, it was just like any other weekend but it wasn't. Not when I had extra time to spare with my youngest son going around in the old beaten up car looking for a place to do a make over. The old M is now close to 30 years old. I thought a treatment of sort is in order. But alas! The guy at the workshop wanted to con me. Huhh....its tough. We walked away shaking our heads considering the deal. Never mind we will continue looking for the right deal. We picked out our badminton rackets and gave a few hits for a sweat...
It was indeed a nice catching up game. It was one of those days when a little quality time is all that you need to brighten things up and to feel close to your loved ones!

What A Weekend!
Indeed it was a very hectic week. However, the weekend was an experience hard to forget. Why not, it was like a dream comes true, though not many were aware of the significance. I was with a big group spending time at an island resort. Ofcourse it was originally all about work. So, worked we did! But, alas! The leader had something else in mind. Work was not all that occupied his grey matter. He had other plans in place. Only he did not disclose to spoil the mood.
Anyway, it was a worthy effort preparing for the event. The journey was also interesting. It was even better the return journey. The greetings from the gang on arrival was simply magnificient. They were all ready. The eldest with a home cook a'la Jaime Oliver - lemon laced oven roast chicken that comes with the necessities. Dinner was simple yet meaningful. The second one came up with something from the internet or book or whatever. But it was really tasty - strawberry yoghurt! And refreshing too!
And to top that up, the cards and the wrappers had to be attended to. Mmmmm, apparently my girls thot I was too typical. A few colour shirts come my way to step out of the ordinary! And of course The Mug....To all, with all my love, thank you very much! It was indeed a memorable milestone when u have all these happenings on your birthday!

Looking For Love...
Love is one of the most interesting four letter word in the life of mankind. It can be the most interesting situation given the right times and circumstances. It can also be the most painful reminder at other times and circumstances. Does Love has real value or is it the most overrated virtue? I don't really have the answer...I leave to you to figure that out.
Anyway, I was at a food court in a major shopping mall the other day with my other half and our 'Huggie' boy. We settled down at a table to quench our thirst after a round of routine aisle surveying. My hearing and subsequently sight was drawn to a golden couple almost dragging their feet moving between the food counters. Looked like they were trying to decide which counter to patronise and how to get get their food. Suddenly it came to my mind, did this couple come alone, or were they following someone? Most often than not this group of people would not venture to this place on their own. They would have been with a group who are most likely their extended family (read like their kid's family). If so, then why would they be allowed to wonder about and struggle in this kind of situation. Would it not be better if those in d group took them around and show them what foods are available and let them decide? Then why not bring them to a table to wait for the order to be served....it is a self-service area but I'm quite sure someone in the group could do just that.
Trouble with me is that my gut feeling always point to something. True enough, after watching the gradma struggling with the order my eyes trailed her to a table where the grandpa was already seated. Apart from him, there were a man and a woman enjoying their meals like there would be no tomorrow, oblivious to the plight of the two elderly people. Perhaps they were not supposed to bother or care! I do not know what were the relationships between the four but I could almost guess. I almost had tears in my eyes and kept thinking how could this happen? Is there no more love between the young and the old? I can almost be sure that love is never lost from the old to the young...but...
Indeed, it was almost cruel to say the least. I did not know what I could have done but looking at my boy's eyes hoping that he would not ever repeat what the young man and woman did to the golden couple. I am sure the golden couple never minded what's done unto them..perhaps it is normal to them. Perhaps they were thankful enough to be brought to this place although it put them out of it...Perhaps they never thought or expected to be treated other wise. Perhaps they never knew that in the twilight of their years, they were actually looking for love.........
